Fujifilm Instax Undisputed World Championship breaking returns to Cape Town

The countdown for the Fujifilm Instax Undisputed Breaking World Championship has ended.

The event talking placed at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Saturday, 6 December brings together elite solo dancers and top crews from not just the African continent but across the globe.

Qualifier

This is the second event in South Africa, after the success of the first edition that rocked the Mother City earlier this year.

The open qualifier starts at 1pm and the main event at 6:30pm. 

Entrance

The event is free to attend and open to all ages, celebrating not just sport, but the full spectrum of Hip Hop culture and community, with its strong connection to the city.

Fujifilm said this his qualifier leads directly to the Undisputed World Final in Tokyo, taking place in March 2026.

Winners in Solo and Crew (5vs5) categories will book themselves a trip to Japan to represent their region on the world stage.

Excitement

Tyrone van den Meer, Project Lead of the Fujifilm Instax Undisputed Breaking World Championship share his excitement about the event.

 “After the success of our first event in Cape Town earlier this year, there was no doubt we would return to the Mother City. We are excited to make Cape Town one of the official stops in the Undisputed series going forward.”

Those in attendance on the 6th will witness an electrifying lineup that includes the world’s top breakers alongside Africa’s finest.

  • Concrete Apostles (RSA).

Breaking

Breaking is, not just about the dancing, and making sure the beats are perfectly served are the DJs for the event.

Joining perennial SA favourite, DJ Grandmaster Ready D, is DJ Nobunaga from the Netherlands, who has travelled the globe DJing at several breaking events, alongside DJ Eazy (RSA) and DJ Azuhl (RSA).

Instax promoters will be at the event, taking photos of those in attendance and making sure they walk away with an Instax print.

Category winners will also each receive an Instax prize to document their journey to Japan.
