Nintendo has scooped two awards at The Game Awards with Donkey Kong Bananza recognised as Best Family Game, while Mario Kart World took home the honour of Best Sports/Racing Game
The Game Awards was held in Los Angeles in the US last week.
Games of the Year
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was named game of the year in a record-breaking haul at this year’s Game Awards.
It staved off competition from Death Stranding 2, Nintendo platformer Donkey Kong Bananza, indie games Hollow Knight: Silksong and Hades 2, and medieval adventure Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to claim the top prize.
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Bananza is a 3D platforming action-adventure for Nintendo Switch 2 starring Donkey Kong. Harness the incredible strength of DK to smash through walls, carve tunnels with your fists, punch straight down into the ground, and even tear off chunks of terrain to swing around and throw in groundbreaking exploration.
Mario Karts
Mario Kart World puts the pedal to the metal across a vast interconnected environment. Race seamlessly across connected courses that deliver Mario Kart racing like never before as up to 24 drivers can compete in a race.
