Due to ongoing restrictions, Huawei doesn’t officially sell its products in the US which is a major disadvantage to American consumers as the company unveiled a great Apple Watch Series 11 alternative available to the rest of the world.

Huawei’s latest Watch GT 6 Pro launched at the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in Paris, France, is a solid all-around smartwatch promising deep health and sports tracking along with very strong battery life.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, was also unveiled at the launch. The company billed the wearable as the first smartwatch rated for 150 metres, pairing diving credentials with audio functionality and sonar-based communication.

The Ultimate 2 can message underwater up to 30 metres and SOS alerts up to 60 metres can turn the watch into a lifeline as much as a logbook.

Features

The Huawei Watch GT 6 boasts some amazing features wrapped up in a premium-feeling design as the smart wearable “ride the wind”, the theme of the launch in Paris.

I have been using Huawei watches for a while now and the battery life has always edged out the competition.

Battery

Huawei promises up to 21 days on a single charge, which is about three times longer than most of the mainstream competition. By comparison, the flagship Google Pixel Watch and Apple Watch average 24 to 36 hours, while Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 line tends to stretch closer to 40 hours.

That’s just hours, the Huawei Watch GT6’s battery lasts ten days shy of a whole month.

The Huawei Watch GT6 Pro has been a great companion to me, like to almost having a doctor on call to give me the stats at the push of a button

It is actually comfortable to wear allowing the soft brown woven and rubber strap that came with form naturally to my wrist.

Tracking

The Huawei Watch GT6 Pro can track a wide variety of data points to help you achieve your fitness goals or simply maintain a healthy lifestyle.

For me, the heart rate and step counters, Sp02, skin temperature and a CE-certified pulse-wave arrhythmia analysis function were great source of information to say, “hey take a break.”

The GT 6 Pro has new cycling tracking features including real-time gradient tracking and a virtual power metric, which the Huawei said at the launch is the first time such a feature has been seen on a smartwatch.

Pricing

With Apple’s watches already available online and instore, Huawei is “riding the wind” in getting the smartwatches into the hands of customers with the new wearables for sale on the company’s official local online store.

The price of the Huawei Watch GT6 Series is also far more affordable than Apples latest Series 11 watches which start from R 9,699.

The Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro are on offer and expected to ship to customers either on or before 25th September 2025 and will be available at retailers on 1 October.

The Watch GT 6 is listed from R4 999 for the 46mm variant with the 41 mm currently not available.

The Watch GT 6 Pro (46mm) is available from R6 999.

Discount

Customers who pre-order the device can get an early bird voucher on the discount of the device.

Huawei is offering a R500 off Early Bird Voucher for consumers who purchase their new wearable on the website. You need to use the code AR500GT6 to get the discount which is only available until 5 October.

World leader

Since first entering the smart wearables market in 2015, Huawei has introduced an extensive line-up of products that have proved popular with consumers globally.

As of June 2025, the company had shipped over 200 million wearables and in the first quarter of 2025, Huawei wearable shipments increased year-on-year by 42.4%, placing the company first in the global wearables market.
