Xiaomi REDMI Note 15 series lands in SA, this is how much it costs

Xiaomi has introduced the REDMI Note 15 Series, comprising the Note 15 Pro+ 5G, Note 15 Pro, and Note 15 in South Africa in a highly competitive midrange market.

While Xiaomi is known for offering high specs for the price, competitors like Huawei, Samsung counter with established brand trust, strong software support and ecosystem integration, and guaranteed longevity through extended software updates.

Honor is also making significant inroads with devices known for exceptional durability and value and let’s not forget Oppo and Vivo.

Battery

Xiaomi said its lineup emphasizes Titan Durability, combining long-lasting batteries, reinforced structural strength, and advanced dust and water resistance.

The Pro+ 5G leads with a 6,500mAh Silicon–Carbon (SiC) battery, 100W HyperCharge, and 22.5W reverse charging.

The Note 15 Pro houses a 5,520mAh battery in its slimmest design yet, while the Note 15 features a 6,000mAh battery. Reverse charging across all models adds convenience.

Durability

Durability is certified by SGS Premium Performance, with the Pro+ 5G resisting drops up to 2.5 meters thanks to Gorilla Glass Victus 2, a reinforced mid-frame, and fiberglass back panel.

Water resistance reaches IP69K, with TÜV SÜD certification ensuring immersion protection up to 24 hours. Wet Touch 2.0 keeps displays responsive even when wet.

Cameras

Imaging sees a major leap: the Pro models debut a 200MP HPE sensor with advanced AI, in-sensor zoom, and versatile focal lengths from 23mm to 92mm. The Note 15 and Note 15 5G feature a 108MP system with 3× telephoto capability.

AI-powered tools like AI Remove Reflection, Beautify, and Creativity Assistant enhance photography across the lineup.

Performance

Performance is driven by Snapdragon and MediaTek chipsets, with the Pro+ 5G introducing Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and Xiaomi’s IceLoop cooling system.

Displays range from 6.77 to 6.83 inches, with peak brightness of 3,200 nits and enhanced audio output (400% boost on Pro models).

Positioned to meet the diverse needs of users worldwide, REDMI Note 15 Series delivers a well-rounded combination of durability, imaging, performance, and display enhancements,” Xiaomi said.

Pricing

In terms of recommended pricing, the REDMI Note 15 starts at R6 999, while the Note 15 Pro rises to R8 499, and the Note 15 Pro+ costs R10 999.

All of these prices, however, are dependent on the retailer with possible variations in the price.
