If you got R 2000 to spare, TCL just introduced one of South Africa’s most affordable 5G smartphones, the new TCL 60R 5G.
The TCL 60R 5G joins a few low-budget smartphones on the market including Samsung with its Galaxy A06, Honor X5b and Tecno Spark 40c among others.
Affordable
This unveiling of the new smartphone by consumers as they seek feature packed phones that are affordable and not the price of a car.
TCL said the 60R combines “smooth visuals, fast connectivity and long battery life in a sleek, budget-friendly package.”
Features
With TCL NXTURBO and RAM expansion technology, the TCL 60R 5G is an entry-level smartphone.
It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset with an octa-core CPU running up to 2.4GHz, the device ensures quick downloads, lag-free multitasking and efficient power use.
The TCL 60R 5G features a 6.7-inch NXTVISION display with a 120Hz refresh rate and also has dual speakers.

Cameras
In terms of camera’s the TCL 60R 5G e the 50MP main camera and 8MP front camera capture with the company saying it captures “beautiful photos and make video calls easy.” Until we get out hands on the smartphone, we will have to take their world for it.
Battery performance is critical and with a 5,200mAh battery, intelligent power management and smart charging that extends battery lifespan by up to 15%, TCL claims you can enjoy up to two days of use on a single charge.
“The TCL 60R makes 5G more accessible than ever,” says Ernst Wittmann, TCL Regional Manager for Southern & East Africa and Global Operator Account Manager for Africa. “It proves that reliable performance and modern features don’t have to come with a high price tag.”

The TCL 60R 5G is available at Cellucity stores, online from Takealot, and at other participating retailers nationwide.
