Wearable technology has surged in recent years as more people prioritize health and wellness.

Tracking runs, walks, heart rate, and breathing has become routine, and competition among major brands such as Apple, Garmin, Samsung, and Huawei continues to intensify.

Huawei’s latest entry, the Band 11 Series, introduces the Band 11 and Band 11 Pro, combining minimalist design with advanced fitness tracking.

Huawei describes the devices as supporting active lifestyles, mindfulness, and intelligent health management.

“Available in multiple colourways across the series, the Huawei Band 11 Series reflects a youthful, sporty aesthetic while delivering smart everyday care that fits seamlessly into modern life,” the company said.

Display and Navigation

The Band 11 Series features a 1.62‑inch micro‑curved display, offering 27% more screen area than its predecessor. Peak brightness has been boosted to 2,000 nits, up from 450, improving visibility in sunlight.

Navigation is enhanced by the Hex Grid Launcher, which introduces orbital icons and vertical scrolling for more intuitive access.

Fitness and Accessibility

The Band 11 Pro debuts wrist‑based running posture monitoring, using an IMU sensor to track metrics such as ground contact time, vertical oscillation, and left‑right balance. These insights help runners refine technique and reduce injury risk.

A standout addition is Wheelchair Mode, which replaces traditional metrics with algorithms tailored to wheelchair‑specific movements, offering scientifically calibrated energy consumption tracking.

Other fitness tools include AI‑powered running plans, fatigue and recovery indices, and performance prediction analysis.

Health and Lifestyle Features

Sleep tracking has been upgraded with Nap Recap and Sleep Breathing Awareness, while women’s health is supported through a Cycle Calendar with proactive reminders.

Built‑in apps such as Calendar, Compass, and Calculator, plus a Remote Shutter for smartphone photography, round out the package.

Availability

The Band 11 Pro comes in green, black, and blue, while the Band 11 is offered in beige, black, green, purple, and white.

Pricing starts at R999 for the Band 11 and R1,299 for the Band 11 Pro, available at Huawei Experience stores, selected retailers, and online.
