Fujifilm South Africa has unveiled the Instax Mini LiPlay+, the first Instax instant camera to feature a dual‑camera setup, combining instant prints with digital creativity.
Released locally on 26 June 2026, the Mini LiPlay+ is the second model in the LiPlay line, which debuted in 2019, and introduces a host of new features designed to elevate instant photography.
Dual camera innovation
For the first time, Instax fans can shoot with both a main camera and a wide‑angle selfie camera. The front lens is encased in a stylish ring, while the rear selfie camera makes group shots effortless, aided by a 3‑inch display for framing.
“The Mini LiPlay+ introduces a variety of new features, including being the first Instax with dual cameras, featuring both a main camera plus a wide‑angle selfie camera,” Fujifilm South Africa said.
The dual setup unlocks Layered Photo mode, allowing users to combine images from both cameras into one unforgettable print.
“The dual camera setup allows the Mini LiPlay+ to offer a new Layered Photo mode, in which images created with both the front and rear cameras can be combined into one unforgettable Mini print,” the company added.
Sound meets print
The Mini LiPlay+ also debuts Instax Sound Print, enabling users to record sound clips or voice notes that are embedded into photos via QR code. Scanning the code with a smartphone brings the audio to life.
For longer storytelling, the Instax Sound Album lets users create slideshow‑style videos of up to 30 seconds with background music.
“The Instax Sound Album offers the ability to create a slideshow‑style video of up to 30 seconds… converted into a QR code and printed together with the selected cover image,” Fujifilm explained.
Connectivity
Through the free Instax Mini LiPlay+ app, users can print smartphone photos, capture images remotely via Bluetooth, and personalise prints with stickers, text overlays, frames and filters.
Pricing and availability
Available in Sand Beige and Midnight Blue, the Instax Mini LiPlay+ retails at R3 999 incl. VAT.
With its dual‑camera innovation, sound‑embedded prints and smartphone integration, Fujifilm’s latest hybrid instant camera is set to redefine how South Africans capture and share their moments.
