Binance expands reach in South Africa through Huawei partnership

Binance on Huawei AppGallery

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has partnered with Huawei to make its mobile app available on the Huawei AppGallery in South Africa, a move aimed at widening access to digital asset services among the country’s smartphone users.

The partnership allows Huawei device owners to download the Binance app directly from the AppGallery, giving users another route to access cryptocurrency trading, digital asset management and educational resources.

App

Binance said the launch could potentially extend its reach to millions of Huawei users in South Africa as demand for mobile-based financial services continues to grow.

“Our goal is simple. We want to make Binance available to as many people as possible wherever they are and whatever device they use,” said Larry Cooke, Director at Binance Africa.

“Working with Huawei means more South Africans can take control of their finances through a platform they trust straight from the phone in their pocket.”

Mobile access

The company said mobile access is becoming increasingly important as more consumers manage their finances through smartphones, including banking, payments and investment services.

Huawei South Africa welcomed the addition of Binance to its app ecosystem.

“Binance brings a comprehensive digital asset experience to AppGallery, giving our users access to a platform where they can explore, manage and learn about crypto in one place,” said Peter Feng, General Manager of Huawei South Africa Consumer Business Group.

“It is a strong addition to the growing range of financial services available to Huawei users.”

Financial education

Beyond access to trading tools, Binance is also highlighting financial education as part of its offering. Through Binance Academy, users can access free learning resources covering digital assets, online security and scam awareness.

“Education sits at the heart of everything we do,” Cooke said.

“Making the app easier to download matters, but helping people understand how crypto works matters more. When people learn before they act, they gain the confidence to use digital assets on their own terms.”

While the partnership broadens access to cryptocurrency services for Huawei users, adoption is likely to depend on factors such as ease of use, trust, regulation and consumers’ understanding of the risks and opportunities associated with digital assets.
