Vodacom World powers Comic Con Africa with R150 000 AR prize quest

With Comic Con Africa just a week away, Vodacom World is set to electrify the 2026 event with an augmented reality gaming experience that puts R150 000 in prizes up for grabs.
Running from 24 to 27 September at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, Vodacom World’s activation will give visitors four days to play, explore and compete in a digital‑meets‑physical quest.
Collectables
Comic Con Africa has become the continent’s premier celebration of technology, gaming and creativity, making it the perfect stage for Vodacom World to showcase how innovation can be engaging, accessible and relevant to fans.
At the centre of the activation is World of Collectables, an augmented reality game that challenges visitors to hunt for virtual treasures and compete for a share of R150 000 in prizes.
Visitors who spend R599 will qualify to play, with rewards including a Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, Nintendo Switch 2, Xiaomi Electric Scooter, Apple MacBook Neo, smartphones, wearables and other connected devices.

Lucky draw
In addition, eligible Vodacom customers who upgrade their contracts at Comic Con will be entered into a lucky draw to win a PlayStation 5.
