Fujifilm South Africa has unveiled the Instax Mini Evo Cinema, a hybrid instant camera that combines three creative tools in one: an instant camera, a smartphone printer, and a video camera.

Available locally in limited quantities from 24 April 2026, the Mini Evo Cinema marks a bold new chapter for the Instax range.

Video and Photo Modes

Users can switch seamlessly between CINE and STILL modes. In CINE mode, creators can record clips of up to 15 seconds, which the camera automatically stitches into a video.

Through the Instax Mini Evo smartphone app, connected via Bluetooth, users can extend their creations to 30 seconds, reorder clips, and add opening or closing sequences.

Each video can be replayed by scanning a QR code printed on an Instax photo, making sharing on social media effortless.

Eras Dial Effects

A standout feature is the Eras Dial, which applies effects from 10 different decades to both photos and videos.

From the grainy tones of the 1930s to the vibrant colours of the 1980s and the sharp imagery of the 2020s, each era captures the look and feel of its time.

Combined with the Degree Control Dial, which fine‑tunes colour, contrast and noise, users can create up to 10 variations per era.

Frames can also be added via the Frame Switch, with designs paying homage to the media and playback devices of each decade.

Design and Functionality

The Mini Evo Cinema’s design draws inspiration from Fujifilm’s classic FUJICA Single‑8 camera, introduced in 1965.

With a sleek black vertical grip, analogue‑style printing lever, zoom control, and a 1.54‑inch LCD monitor, the device blends tactile functionality with modern elegance. A viewfinder, grip attachment and premium hand strap complete the package.

Pricing and Availability

For those seeking a truly versatile instant camera, the Instax Mini Evo Cinema offers instant prints, smartphone connectivity, and video capability in one device.

Priced at R7 499 incl. VAT, it is available in limited quantities at select South African retailers.
