As football fever grips the nation during the 2026 World Cup, Uber is rolling out a series of fan-focused activations designed to make every match day more exciting, convenient, and memorable.
Running from 11 June to 19 July, the initiative spans Uber’s mobility and food delivery platforms, offering South African supporters easier access to fan zones, special in-app experiences, and exclusive food promotions throughout the tournament.
Discounted Rides to Fan Zones
Football fans travelling to official viewing venues can take advantage of discounted rides by using the promo code MATCHDAY26. The offer applies to all South African matches, including highly anticipated clashes against Mexico and the Czech Republic.
Participating fan zones include popular destinations such as Montecasino Piazza and Gold Reef City Casino, as well as venues in Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria, ensuring supporters across the country can join the festivities.
Bringing National Pride into the App
Uber is also introducing a unique in-app feature that allows users to select the country they support. Once selected, every vehicle icon displayed on the map will be wrapped in that nation’s flag, adding a fun and interactive way for fans to show their allegiance during the tournament.
