Gamers score free loot in Acer upgrade deal

Acer Africa has unveiled a nationwide promotion offering gamers free Steam wallet vouchers and custom gear when they upgrade their setups, in what the company is calling the “ultimate upgrade cheat code.”

Running from 16 July to 31 December 2026, the promotion rewards buyers of selected Nitro and Predator gaming laptops with double bundles of gaming loot.

Vouchers

Customers can claim up to R1,000 in Steam vouchers alongside extra‑large branded desk mats, designed to enhance both performance and style.

The campaign is split into two tiers. The “Level Up” Pack, available with Acer Nitro 15 and 16 models, includes a R500 Steam voucher and a large Nitro gaming mouse mat.

Laptops

These laptops are positioned as budget‑friendly rigs offering smooth gameplay, sleek designs and high‑refresh‑rate screens.

For those seeking maximum power, the “Pro‑Gamer” Pack comes with Predator Helios Neo 16 and Helios 18 models.

Buyers receive a R1,000 Steam voucher and a Predator mouse mat engineered for professional‑grade tracking. The Predator range features mechanical‑style keyboards and advanced cooling systems aimed at competitive players.

Promotion

Acer emphasised that the promotion can be stacked with existing retail discounts, giving gamers the chance to secure both hardware upgrades and free digital content.

To claim rewards, customers must purchase eligible laptops from participating retailers — including Shopacer, Takealot, Game, Makro, HiFi Corporation, Incredible Connection and Amazon — and register online within 30 days of purchase.

Initiative

Acer said the initiative is designed to help South African gamers “game like pros” while easing the cost of upgrades.

 “Stop playing on low settings. It’s time to game like a pro with Acer — and get paid to do it,” the company noted in its campaign message.

With the promotion running until year‑end, gamers have a limited window to claim their free bundles before stocks run out.
